Hi guys it's Rowan, I can't log in from work. Just wanted to let you know I got a friend's teasing PM at JCF notifying me that it's "game over" for Reylo because SW Rebels confirmed FinnRey. Apparently Kanan (jedi) told Hera (non jedi) "We will see each other again, I promise" My reaction is MEH. But still fyi. I don't understand how Kanan and Hera's relationship is connected to finnrey? All the OT relationships were FS and non-FS....annakin and padme, Leia and Han...if anything, it makes reylo endgame since it is FS and FS for a change....  Also, Kanan and Hera didn't kiss, just hugged....and I heard the youtube reviews that a lot of guys were disappointed......if I recall correctly, another guy got hugged and kissed on the forehead...so I wouldn't be too confident that reylo is over....  |

I wonder why they have to post anything. On other boards mods don't interfere at all and that's much better,unless they are forums like this one,where everyone feels comfortable with the rest. In fact, when I see their avatars I feel uneasy,they make me feel uncomfortable. Agreed. Usually (on other boards), mods cut waaaaay back on their posting when they become mods. They might step in to issue gentle reminders or mediate heated arguments, but they don't typically post their opinions like a typical poster. Yeah, and if they post, they post as neutrally as possible. There's been nothing neutral about the behaviour of Chorus in the past couple of days. (Possibly earlier, I just didn't pay any attention to it until now.) So sorry not sorry: his or her posts are there for everyone to see, and so are mine here; I don't feel like I'm griping behind anybody's back by saying this. Like I said before, the standards of moderation are not for me to decide - their forum, their rules, and closing the old thread and putting the strict new rules in place is well within their rights. I might grumble about it inwardly for a few minutes but soon shrug and move on. It is, however, this other stuff that makes my blood boil. There's no other explanation to the continuing shaming and insulting behaviour except that they'd rather we were not there. (I say "they" because I assume Chorus isn't a dictator and s/he probably has tacit peer approval for saying those things.) reynak is right, debating with mods makes one uncomfortable even when the debate is in good faith. And I really don't feel like this is. "I forgive whoever I want" is damn right - and I'll add that I like whichever fictional character I want, and am intrigued by whichever fictional storyline I want. As far as I know, my imagination is all mine, and not for anyone to dictate. |

Maybe we could index the old JCF Reylo thread (so we don't lose everything we've analysed since TFA's release) and start again in a place we could call "our own"? A place where we could keep our work safe? That's what came to my mind... I don't see myself contributing again to the 2.0 thread (as said before, enthusiasm = 0) and the idea of a Fan club on JCF doesn't really appeal to me :/ This would be absolutely amazing if this could be done. Also, my husband and I were looking at the terms of the site. It appears that tfn does not "own" our words in the same way Facebook does. How would we do it? By trying to compile some analysis/metas written since TFA's release (I was just looking for a musical one in the old Reylo thread but I couldn't find it). We need a place to organize our thoughts. | If everyone feels comfortable here (I'd like LotC to be structured though...) maybe the forum I created yesterday could be used as an archive? |

berhan, I think it's good idea to go to the other forum. This one was created by Sunbloom, and I don't know if she's around, meaning that there's nobody to admin the forum. Since it allows guest posts, it could get dirty very, very soon.
I like the forum you created, but the name is not easy to remember. I can't remember in fact, I know it has something to do with light. Is it possible to have an easier name?
And it's good that it has private areas, just for us to vent.

As for names, what about something with Reylo or at least Rey and Kylo Ren in the title? To make it more likely for casual searchers to find it.

I second this - I like the look of the new forum, it looks well organised. And a Reylo forum should definitely be well moderated! I love Berhan's forum layout.....it would be a wonderful haven for reylos....but I am going to add something slightly controversial....maybe we should tolerate other characters discussions there also....not necessarily their ships but general discussions. Also, I feel we should transfer some of the better posts from the old thread to the new forum once it is up and running....and find a way to make it easier to search for it on google.....a lot of people found our old thread via google search....just some thoughts..... |
